Trails
Schnebly Hill / Hot Loop

Take in breathtaking vistas of Sedona at the rim of the Hot Loop trail and along the shelf of Schnebly Hill Road as it ascends out of downtown Sedona east into the mountains.
Schnebly Hill Road is a maintained but very rough dirt road that is well within the reach of any truck or SUV. The Hot Loop is a trail that leaves the road and travels along the rim before descending into a dense forest. While more difficult, the Hot Loop is also acceptable for stock trucks and due to its scenic quality, excellent for beginners and the experienced alike!
Smiley Rock
Journey through historic Jerome on your way to conquer Smiley Rock trail, named after a naturally occurring rock smiley face. Make your way through the pines and face the moderately challenging Martin Canyon, a narrow slot in the woods strewn with boulders. Suspension lift and skid plates are highly recommended for this run. New for 2011!
Expedition Run
Climb into the pines and rack up some major dirt miles on this expedition-style trail run. Explore forests and lakes surrounding Sedona as you are guided through the lengthy maze of dirt passages in the area and beyond. New for 2011!
Broken Arrow
Are you ready for the quintessential Sedona trail?! The most difficult in the area, Broken Arrow also offers spectacular views of red rock country from notable spots like Submarine Rock and Chicken Point. Tackle the famous ‘staircase’ obstacle and play around on the ledges of the mini-Moab areas. Modified trucks will have no problem negotiating the trail – stock vehicles with a good and careful driver will also be fine.
Greasy Spoon
Greasy Spoon features a number of steep ascents and descents along a very straight section that follows a pipeline west of town. Stock trucks can complete the trail without any problem while optional line choices can provide a thrill for more built rigs. An optional and (very) brief rocky section in a wash crossing offers a more extreme challenge for those that are interested.
Soldier Pass
Soldier Pass is a very short but exciting trail located remarkably close to downtown Sedona. Enjoy a stop at the massive and bizarre Devil’s Kitchen sinkhole and the interesting Seven Sacred Pools. This moderately challenging trail is passable by stock vehicles.
Oak Creek Homestead
Escape from the typical Sedona trail traffic on the lesser used Oak Creek Homestead. This easy-going trail features scenic views, water crossings, and a fun climb up and down some rock stairs on a small shelf road. Dare you plunge into the creek on the rope swing at the historic homestead ruins like brave Sedonafest-goers of the past?
The Cinders
Travel North to Flagstaff for a day at Cinder Hills Off-Highway Vehicle Area. A series of volcanic craters in a dense pine forest, The Cinders is a unique place to enjoy. Test your suspension on a wide open lava bed or try your hand at numerous challenging hill climbs. New for 2011!
